Mended: Restoring the Hearts of Mothers and Daughters Book Review

As I write this, my heart hurts. My heart hurts for the daughters that did not get the chance to reconcile with their Mamas before it was too late. My heart hurts for the daughters that maybe said something they wish they could take back or wish they could have said anything. My heart hurts for the daughters that long for time with their Mama again as she is no longer with them. While the loss of my Mama is still fresh, I know that God will use this as a way for me to learn about His Will for myself and how He will hold my hand through this new chapter in my life.

When I first saw that this book was geared towards mothers and daughters, I immediately became interested. It was a book that focused on both restoration and strengthening relationships. What made Mended even special was the fact it was written by both a mother and daughter- they become transparent in their stories and experiences as a “me too” conversation. Though their stories of healing may be different than the reader’s, the empathy resonates within their words.

The book came to me at a time that I did not expect it to have such a great impact on my relationship with my Mama. We were always close for as long as I can remember. When I had the opportunity to read this book, I thought of how it would possibly strengthen our mother-daughter relationship.

During the beginning stages of my opportunity to read the book and interact with the authors and the other ladies in the group, my life seemed to become paused when my Mama was hospitalized. I shared with the group what was happening so they could pray for my Mama, and Blythe reached out to me and wrote up a prayer for me. I think with Blythe and her Mom’s sincerity towards the trauma of what would happen to my Mama that led to her passing is what made Mended a genuine book for my soul as well as other mothers and daughters.

I was gifted these beautiful earrings- individually unique yet beautifully connected as a mother and daughter

This book is valuable with information and conversation starters to either strengthen or reconcile a relationship. I love the conversation starters and the suggestions that were throughout this book. To be honest, I found that some of the suggestions could easily be used as a conversation starter with any other person you need to talk to. I highly recommend any mother and daughter to read this book to become inspired and healed. I believe asking God to lead you as you read this book is the best way for His Will to shine through you as you start this journey of restoration and strength. Below is a quote that is from the book, and I absolutely love the purpose behind it. I found that it brings peace as you realize what God shows you.

“God will take you into the cave you fear the most to show you there’s nothing to fear.” Mended: Restoring the Hearts of Mothers and Daughters

If you want to check out the book, you can here. I do not make any profit with this link. I am just sharing so others know how to access it. I, also, received this book in return for an honest review. I pray that it blesses you as it did for me.
