Fresh Start Bible Review

How often have you gotten a fresh start with anything? Maybe it was a fresh start with a new move to a city, a new job, or even a newfound appreciation of life. Sometimes in order for us to have that “fresh start,” we need to surrender what may be on our hearts.

We get a fresh start each day- God wakes us up for a purpose. We may have missed all the “signals” from God to receive or give a blessing the day before, but that does not mean that we messed up God’s will for our lives. We are not that powerful enough to change the will of God. He just redirects us when we misstep.

Gateway  has made a new study Bible called, Fresh Start Bible. A great team collaborated together to produce something that not only will help you understand Scripture better, but allow you to impact other’s lives.

In the Fresh Start Bible, you will begin your journey with:

  • 52 important questions about the foundations of faith. As I read through the questions and responses, I learned a different perspective on things I thought I understood. When it comes to your faith, you are on a spiritual, learning journey.
  • Intersections (located towards the end of the Bible) is an introduction to the readers to learn about the important people and events that impacted the Bible.
  • Road Signs are just how the ones we see on the road intend- to grab your attention. The teachings are carefully written to shine a light on the Scripture and aid in your spiritual growth.
  • Worship Way shines a light of the importance of worship
  • Freedom Path allows for us as readers to discover our spiritual freedom
  • Bible Reading Breakthrough emphasizes the significance of reading in the Word each day, and how it can impact your life.
  • Leader Guide for Small Groups is another aspect of this study Bible that allows small groups within churches to build each other up through connection and understanding how to utilize Fresh Start Bible as the foundation of their learning.
  • Articles related to history and culture within the Bible can be founded woven throughout the text, and by understanding history or culture in certain time periods, that allows us to understand the Scripture in a different light.
  • There is a list of topics or stories if you want to be directed to something specific.
  • At the end of the Bible, there are colorful maps with details of different voyages and tribes.
  • For the note takers, there is a section at the end for notes to look back on as you go through your journey in the Word.

I’d love to take this chance to tell you that sometimes when you read the Word, something will not make sense right away. That doesn’t mean that you should give up. However, pray before and as you study the Bible, and God will honor your effort. Do not feel let down just because something does not make sense right away. The goal of a Christian is to learn and discover God’s love story for yourself, and He is your Teacher. As you pray and ask for guidance from our Heavenly Father, He will shine a light on the Words you read. Reading through the Bible is not a race, it is a journey that will become one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV, Biblegateway.com)

I pray that this blesses you as it did for me. When I received my copy of the Fresh Start Bible, it came at the right time when I needed to refocus my thoughts. Lately, I have been staying up a few extra minutes to read in the Word- nothing specific, just where I happen to open up. Sometimes I end up reading something that happens to line up with what I needed to hear from God, and other times I am reading something that is not connected with my circumstances at that moment. However, I try journal my thoughts and what the Scripture means, and God always shows me how that “random” Scripture is connected to me at His time.

Take this fresh start. Reading the Word is obedience. Allow your heart to embark on this amazing, spiritual journey to grow closer to God.

If interested, you can find more information about Fresh Start Bible here, and information about Gateway here. I am not an affiliate with Gateway, and I received a copy for an honest review. If you do end up purchasing, nothing goes to me. I simply wanted to share a new find I know would benefit your spiritual walk.

Love, Tabitha
